History of Stockton, NSW

Stockton Soldiers' Memorial

I'll be writing a much more detailed history of this memorial but in the meantime, here is a brief overview.

The Stockton Soldiers' Memorial is located at the corner of Mitchell St and Hereford St, Stockton, NSW. It is the main community memorial for commemorating those from Stockton who have served in conflicts from World War One to Afghanistan.

The memorial lists approx. 150 names of those who served and died during World War One. The names of those who died during World War Two are also listed.

The memorial was built using funds raised by the community and was unveiled on 25 April, 1922.

Details of the names on the memorial can be found on the Register of War Memorials in NSW
